Clearing Skies is an office worker. Clocking in and clocking out of the mundane office life, he was exhausted, mulling over what the future holds. Developing a bleak and empty outlook in life and becoming a coffee addict, he decided to find something to turn his situation around, trying to get into streaming and singing online to mix things up. Lo and behold, on his way back from work at night, he encountered a wandering demon trying to prey on another. Remembering his martial arts training from his university and schooling days, he took down the demon to rescue the victim of the demon attack. A nearby demon hunter arrived at the scene and witnessed the event. Very impressed, they decided to recruit him by baiting him with a HUGE starting salary for a job as a demon hunter. Clearing Skies, wanting to turn his life around, do good and improve his financial situation (because the economy is rough) jumped at the opportunity to become a demon hunter on the condition that he could commence his demon hunting activities at night and keep his office job. He then became an office worker by day and demon hunter by night.
On his first mission as a demon hunter, he was assigned to hunt a F-rank demon. However, things did not go according to plan. An A-Rank demon who was undetected jumped into the fray. Thinking the A-rank demon was a F-rank demon, Clearing Skies clutched at his standard issue katana and decided to do a really strong slash as he was unfamiliar with how much strength was required to take down a demon due to his demon hunting inexperience. The one slash parted the clouds, cleared the skies and cut the A-rank demon clean in half. The demon hunter association, being very impressed with his feat, gave him the code name “Clearing Skies” and informed Clearing Skies that what he slayed was indeed an A-rank demon instead of a F-Rank demon. He was then known as “rising rookie” by his demon hunting co-workers.
Clearing Skies then embarks on a new journey in life. What awaits him in the future? That doesn’t matter right now. The one thing he knows is that this new direction in life has eliminated his depression and has him feeling fulfilled, being able to do good in a way he never had before.
